The UK Best Ideas fund's target allocation is 100% UK equities. The UK is one of the world's largest and most diverse economies, accounting for around 5% of the world's GDP and 10% of the value of global stockmarkets.

The Fund follows on from the very successful Global Best Ideas Fund that was launched by Skandia Investment Management in June 2006 and has already achieved assets under management of over £140 million (as at 15 September 2006).

With UK Best Ideas, managers only hold those stocks they really believe in or, put another way, stocks 'that they would invest in themselves'. This might sound obvious, but it isn't necessarily the case with traditional fund management where some stocks are held simply because they form a significant part of a market index.
