How do we manage money?

MultiManager investing

The fundamental principle of multimanager investing is simply that no single investment company can be the best in all areas and at all times - so it’s a distinct advantage to be able to select from a range of the best managers in the market, and switch between them as required. We use this approach to offer a core managed investment solution and a range of funds where you choose the asset allocation.

We begin by looking at the fundamental characteristics of a manager, not simply looking at past performance. This involves significant activity, with hundreds of manager interviews carried out each year; this activity is essential to enable us to identify managers who we believe can deliver strong, consistent performance in the future. We look for performance as a result of skill, not luck – as skill can deliver repeatable returns.
